Amy J. Amundsen


Amy J. Amundsen, who primarily practiced family law litigation in the Memphis and Mid-South area for 32 years, is providing conflict resolution through virtual divorce mediation & arbitration & collaborative family law and consulting services as a virtual legal strategist in divorce cases. Ms. Amundsen has an extensive background in handling highly complex cases, including cases involving significant business and personal assets along with the delicate issues surrounding child custody matters.

She has been trained as a Collaborative Family Law Attorney and Arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  She is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Lawyers.

A graduate of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, Ms. Amundsen has been elected by her peers to lead many legal organizations where she has implemented outreach to the community.  She has served as President for each of the following organizations: Memphis Bar Association, Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court, The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Association Family Law Section (two terms), Chair of the Memphis Area Legal Services Campaign and the 2019 University of Memphis Law Pillars of Excellence.

Ms. Amundsen was awarded the Judge Jerome Turner Lawyer’s Lawyer Award from the Memphis Bar Association (MBA) in 2018, the highest award bestowed to a lawyer by the MBA, the Justice Joseph W. Henry Award from the Tennessee Bar Association in 2017 for her article on mental health records in custody cases, the Marion Griffin-Francis Loring Award from the Association of Women Attorneys for her contributions to women and the law, and the Paul Harris Fellow award from Rotary International.
